Barnabas Dukay received the Ferenc Erkel Award in 2000 and the Bartok-Pasztory Award in 2007.

In my possession are the autograph manuscripts of the full score and the parts of the composition "Breathing exercise" for 4 horns by Barnabas Dukay. The manuscript is undated and I found no information when it was composed. The full score has the following comment by Barnabas Dukay on the title page: "Ez a darab "O" című komporicióm "A" változatának, 4 kürtre (in F) átírt, könnyitett formája" (This is the simplified form of the "A" version of my composition "O", transcribed for 4 horns (in F))
