Rolf Hempel: Dialog

This site presents my effect on the latest performance of Dialog for fluet and organ (1966) by Rolf Hempel (1932-2016).

The autograph manuscript of "Dialog" for flute and organ by Rolf Hempel came in my possession in 2018 and the score was published the same year. The German flutist Albrecht Imbescheid was immediately interested in the work, but an opportunity for a performance had to wait until 2022. Albrecht Imbescheid, who is also the founder of the tonart festival in Esslingen, put the work on the program of the "comeback concert" of the festival after two years of silence due to Corona restrictions. One reason was the fact that 2022 marked the 90th anniversary of the birthday of Rolf Hempel and so the work was performed on 21 October 2022 by Albrecht Imbescheid (flute) and Felix Muntwiler (organ) at the Franziskanerkirche in Esslingen (Germany).
